This session will review the differences between HSS and pipe sections, explain how HSS are formed, and discuss the availability and minimum quantity orders for various HSS shapes. Earn 1.0 PDH or 1.0 LU upon completion.

Learning objectives include:

  • Illustrate how HSS are made (A500, A1085, A53, A847)
  • Evaluate the various materials available to form HSS, review wall thickness, tolerances, and yield stress.
  • Discuss minimum quantities that producers require to sell bundles and identify availability of HSS
  • Analyze AESS considerations including seam welds

  • After watching the video you will need to complete a 10-question multiple choice quiz.
