Guest presenter Kim Olson from Nucor Corporation will discuss how the design, detailing and fabrication processes for HSS members are quite different than those typically employed for open section members and plates. This all-encompassing session on HSS welding will help designers demystify some of the complexities of HSS fabrication.

• • Identify factors that contribute to difficult HSS fabrication and how to avoid them
  • Understand how and when HSS member access affects weld choices
  • Compare suitability of CJP vs. PJP welds in HSS sections
  • Review welding positions and qualifications
