2025 HSS SUMMIT
Session
Galvanizing HSS Best Practices
Description:
The purpose of this seminar is to educate architects, engineers, and other specifiers about the successful specification, design, inspection, and coating hot-dip galvanized steel as it pertains to HSS designs. We will review proper design for HSS to allow for a successful application of the coating. We will discuss how hot-dip galvanizing and paint can coexist. This presentation will provide the most updated HDG industry trends with regard to HSS.
Learning Objectives:
- Assess the reasons for hot-dip galvanizing, the batch HDG process, and the standards to be specified.
- Identify the best practices for HSS to be galvanized based on ASTM specification guidelines.
- Analyze the effect of steel chemistry on galvanizing.
- Conduct proper inspection and testing methods to jot-dip galvanized steel.
