Have you lately been hearing buzzwords like “EPD,” “Buy Clean,” and of course, “sustainability”? These terms are all tied to the recent strong push to lower embodied carbon in buildings and contribute to a healthier planet. This webinar will discuss several of the fundamentals related to embodied carbon, the truth behind HSS environmental impacts, and how designers/steel suppliers can practically incorporate life cycle assessment considerations into your design projects. This free session is part one of two in our Sustainability Series for the month of October.

Learning Objectives
Webinar topics will include:

• Understanding how HSS is produced and how it helps designers meet sustainability goals
• Becoming aware of the available environmental product declarations (EPDs) for HSS
• Practical advice for specifications and general notes for sustainable designs using steel

Professional Development Hours
Each participant can earn 1.0 PDH and receive a certificate of completion from the Steel Tube Institute (STI). To receive a PDH certificate from STI, either for an individual or anybody in the group/site, you are required to attend the webinar in its entirety and complete the poll at the completion of the webinar.

Any participant that holds a PE license in Florida, Maryland, New York and/or North Carolina is required to complete a quiz for your PDH. The link will be emailed to the registrant at the conclusion of the webinar and must be completed within 24 hours of the conclusion of the webinar. If you are a group/site registration, the registrant will need to send this link to any participant that is licensed in any of these four states.

Group/site registrants will also need to complete and return an attendee form to confirm attendance. This form will be included in your confirmation email from GoToWebinar. Once completed, the form shall be emailed to sfontaine@steeltubeinstitute.org within 24 hours after the completion of the webinar.

Registration Fees

• Registration is $95 for individual registration. This provides a unique link for one login. Registrant is eligible for one PDH certificate provided you successfully complete the webinar (answer poll questions, attend webinar in its entirety, and take the quiz if licensed in Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, and/or New York).
• Group/site registration is only available for HSS Group Professional Members. An HSS Group Professional Membership can be purchased for $400. This allows multiple people to view the webinar in one room or multiple people from the same office to view individually.
  • If viewing in one room, multiple PDH certificates may be issued provided the poll questions are completed by the registrant during the webinar and the attendee form is completed and returned within 24 hours of the webinar conclusion. All attendees on the form must have attended the webinar for its entirety.
  • To view individually, each person will need to register individually.
