Title: HSS Applications in Clean Design
Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2025
Time: 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. CT
Format: Live Webinar
Level: Beginner, Informational, Design Professionals, Engineers, Fabricators
Life science, food and beverage, and other similar facilities require special consideration in the built environment to promote compliance with a variety of regulatory agencies and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP). HSS framing is regularly used in these applications to promote the end goal of keeping products safe from contamination. This session will address some of the unique design and detailing challenges associated with “clean” spaces and the implications for the use HSS members, including:
- Economical design for long spans and substantial loads
- Cleanability, durability, and material finish
- Practical (and impractical) connection detailing
Learning Objectives
- Understand the application of Current Good Manufacturing Practices in the built environment.
- Identify the unique challenges with design and detailing of HSS framing in “clean” applications.
- Equip engineers with practical resources, tools, and examples for HSS “clean” design.
